There is no one single area like there was when it was Dupont Circle at the center, with Eagle and Phase 1 being more removed. It is far more dispersed throughout the city, and just part of the larger gentrified DC. Is there an area that gay men and women are now gravitating towards? or has DC finally blended into one big happy city? When I walked down U Street, it was millennials, straight couples, and women, lots and many attractive women getting ready for a night out hanging at happy hour. I just remember growing up here, areas like Dupont and then P Street, being or seemingly being, predominantly gay much as if you would see in Rehoboth Beach on a given weekend. Yes, I know 10% of DC residents identify as gay. After walking from the Convention Center, through Shaw, to U Street, I had to take notice that this city isnt what it was once in regards to the gay community.
